Abstract
Transmedia storytelling, as introduced by Henry Jenkins in his work Convergence Culture (2006), is not without issues. There seems to be a discrepancy between the definition of the term and the way it is implemented. Looking from a shared New Media Studies and Literary Studies perspective this paper aims to explore this discrepancy, its origin and its consequences. It serves as a starting point for further exploration of the term transmedia storytelling and its implementations.
