Abstract
This thesis studies the movie adaptation of Khaled Hosseini's novel The Kite Runner. The adaptation diverges from the novel very subtly, yet stays close to the novel. It is therefore interesting to analyze these subtle changes the moviemakes have made to the original. Three theme's are analyzed: violence, relationships and the portrayal of Afghanistan.
