Abstract

In this thesis I have studied two different types of quantum simulation to simulate 2D systems. I have studied multifractality in an electronic Sierpiński triangle on the surface of copper patterned with CO molecules; and I have studied the different potentials that can be used to make artificial lattices on the surface of a 3D topological insulator.
