Abstract

This study investigates the Super-Sauze landslide using photogrammetry from 1956 to 2012. The purpose of this study is to provide the deformational activity of the Super-Sauze landslide in more detail. The lack of suitable historical data limits long-term photogrammetry, but IGN provide a wealth of historical aerial imagery in their geo-database. Here, 6 years (1956, 1974, 1982, 1993, 2000, 2012) were processed to create DEMs using ERDAS and MetaShape. This study found that the Super-Sauze landslide develops from a rock pile (130m long in 1956) to a 800m long landslide by 2012 with the main activity being an earthflow event occurring between 1974 and 1982. From this, more long-term landslide studies can be completed as this research has shown a valid method with significant findings.
