Prevalence(co-occurrence) of Renal Impairment, Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome, and NASH in Patients at a High Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

Abstract

This study investigates the prevalence and interrelations of renal impairment, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and NASH in patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Conducted in primary care settings in the Netherlands, the research employs cross-sectional and cohort study designs to analyze data from 500 patients, aged 40-89, without symptomatic CVD history but identified for risk factor management. The study's objectives include determining the co-prevalence of these conditions and their impact on long-term cardiovascular outcomes. The findings aim to advance clinical insights, guide healthcare practices, and influence policy development regarding these co-morbidities in high cardiovascular-risk individuals.
